He entered the monastic order in the Monastery of Chilandar and was appointed the representative of the Chilandar-Appendant Church Estate in Niš from there. After that, he was ordained the archpriest of Niš. In the name of the clergy and on behalf of the people, he proclaimed union with the Serbian Church on January 18th 1878, notifying the Metropolitan of Serbia Michael about his act. Having remained loyal to Metropolitan Michael even after his dismissal from this position, he was removed from the duty of the archpriest on April 1st 1883 and removed to the Petkovica Monastery. He died in 1888 in Belgrade and was buried in the Belgrade Church of St. Mark.
