He is mentioned for the first time in 1815, on the occasion of merging of the Nišava and Niš eparchies. On the basis of his relations with Serbia and because of helping the rebels, he was hung together with four distinguished citizens of Niš in 1821 "on the bridge across Nišava near the Fortress", upon the order of the Niš governor Hussein Pasha Gavanzoglu.
